Smarty Pants

So, for only being a week short of 8months old - Jonah is sure a smart little guy. Not much gets passed him! He's always watching, interacting and ready for a party! Our little social butterfly!

So, this morning after breakfast, a clean diaper, and 45min. of playing on the floor with mama it was time for a nap. Jonah was rubbing his eyes and yawning so I leaped on it like a cat! (haa haa ... ironic huh?) We cuddled on the couch for a while and read a book and then we went into Jonah's room for some soft singing and rocking. I rocked with him for about 3min - just until he was nice and relaxed and drowsy. Then I put him down awake. I stroked his head and told him it was nap time and to sleep.

He rolled right over, grabbed his feet and started laughing. So, again I told him it was nap time and I shut his door. I was fully prepared for the crying - but instead he started playing, clicking his tongue and talking. And then it happened... his door opened and I heard hysterical laughing. Jonah figured out how to get his arm to go through the crib rails and open up the door. So, I walked in - rolled him over, shushed him and didn't say a word. I then shut the door..this time shutting it tightly closed.

Do you know that for 10min. I listened to him click, laugh and semi-fuss all the while he was SCRATCHING AT THE DOOR!!!??? That little stinker! haa haa I had to laugh to myself - what a smart social little fella.

The scratching has stopped, there is only the hum of his fan coming from the room and I am now trying to figure out how to move his bed - away from the door!!! LOL!!
